Rick Jarvis

Rick has been a Licensed Insurance Producer  for almost 20 years. Prior to that positions held include directing the Somerville Community Youth Program, Bikes Not Bombs and coordinating MIT’s Educational Talent Search Program

More About Rick Jarvis

Rick Jarvis has been a Licensed Insurance Producer  for almost 20 years. Prior to that positions held include directing the Somerville Community Youth Program, Bikes Not Bombs and coordinating MIT’s Educational Talent Search Program

Rick holds a Masters of Education from Harvard’s School of Education and a BA from Fisk University (Economics and Management)

Rick was born and raised in Cambridge, and grew up around coaches and educators.   

His mission in life is to empower young people to be leaders and support the development mentors and leaders.  

Rick was one of the founders of the Dubois Saturday Academy, during the early 90’s and is looking forward to being a part of resurrecting another Saturday School, for young men, focusing on academic enrichment, social support and economic literacy.

Past projects include, the Cambridge Youth council, the NightStop teen drop in program, Positive Edge Streetworker program, Winning Edge Afterschool and Boston Family Nurturing Center training program.

Rick is looking forward to helping develop a timely program that addresses the education gap that young men of color are facing.

Fatherhood Fridays: I Am My Brother's Keeper.

Starting Friday April 2, 2021 at 6:30pm we will hold space every Friday for men to discuss masculinity, relationships, and the responsibilities connected to navigating these times. We are sons, brothers, cousins, uncles, and fathers and we are stronger together. #itsamovementnotamoment
