Ty Bellitti is a lifelong Cambridge resident and global citizen who is dedicated to giving back to his community. He’s built a career spanning the corporate, non-profit and independent business sectors, which has afforded him the opportunity to develop expansive networks and relationships anchored by shared values rooted in community: honesty, respect, empathy and resiliency. Ty believes in the importance of empowering people through education, and his years of experience have helped him to build strong, diverse, effective teams that honor the collective and play to the strengths of each team member.
Beyond the board room, Ty is most proud of his commitment to mentoring and supporting youth and their families. His 20+ years of dedication as a volunteer youth baseball coach and mentor affirms his passion for the development and growth of Cambridge youth. Whether on the baseball field or in the classroom, his goal is always the same: to hold space where young people are heard, supported, and held to a high bar of excellence. As the former Managing Director of Programs at Parenting Journey, Ty was responsible for building, training and deploying teams of professionals into communities throughout the Commonwealth to deliver evidence-based enrichment programs to support parents and caregivers. These programs helped participants develop communication skills, increase self-confidence, and build community for the betterment of all.
As the Vice President of My Brother’s Keeper (MBK), Cambridge, Ty brings an education-first approach to community building. He believes that education and communication are the keys to empowering youths and families to create alternative solutions that lead to financial independence, upward mobility and community leadership. Ty and the MBK team bring families, educators, city officials, community leaders, and subject matter experts together on a wide range of issues to share ideas that ultimately lead to improved understanding and prepare the way for collective action. His work at MBK includes educational programming around financial literacy and life skills to empower youths to take charge of their future and steer their own path to success.
